Protect your data with regular backups

Backup and Restore

Regular backups protect your website from data loss due to accidents, hacks, or server issues.

Automatic Backups

CyberPanel can automatically backup your website on a schedule.

To enable:

  • Go to "Backup" in CyberPanel
  • Click "Schedule Backup"
  • Select your website
  • Choose backup frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)
  • Set retention period (how many backups to keep)
  • Click "Schedule"

Manual Backup

To create an immediate backup:

  • Go to "Backup" > "Create Backup"
  • Select your website
  • Click "Create Backup"
  • Wait for completion (may take several minutes)

What Gets Backed Up

Full backups include:

  • All website files in public_html
  • MySQL databases
  • Email accounts and messages
  • Configuration files

Downloading Backups

To download a backup to your computer:

  • Go to "Backup" > "Restore Backup"
  • Find your backup in the list
  • Click "Download"
  • Save the file to a safe location
Store backup copies off-server for maximum safety!

Restoring from Backup

To restore your website:

  • Go to "Backup" > "Restore Backup"
  • Select the backup you want to restore
  • Click "Restore"
  • Confirm the restoration
  • Wait for the process to complete
Restoring will overwrite your current files and database. Make sure this is what you want!

Best Practices

  • Enable automatic daily backups
  • Keep at least 7 days of backups
  • Download important backups to your computer
  • Test your backups periodically
  • Always backup before major changes
