Pointing Your Domain to Hosting
Connect your domain name to your WebHostNet hosting account using DNS configuration.
Method 1: Change Nameservers (Recommended)
This is the easiest and most reliable method.
Step 1: Log into your domain registrar
Access the control panel where you purchased your domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.)
Step 2: Find DNS/Nameserver settings
Look for options like:
- DNS Management
- Nameservers
- Domain Settings
- Advanced DNS
Step 3: Update nameservers
Replace existing nameservers with:
text
ns1.webhostnet.in ns2.webhostnet.in
Step 4: Save and wait
Save changes and wait 24-48 hours for DNS propagation.
Method 2: Update A Records
If you want to keep your current nameservers:
Steps:
- Go to DNS Management at your registrar
- Find the A record for @ (root domain)
- Change the IP to: 65.108.3.177
- Add/update www A record to: 65.108.3.177
- Save changes
Verification
Check if your domain is pointing correctly:
bash
ping yourdomain.com
Should return: 65.108.3.177
Or use online tools:
- whatsmydns.net
- dnschecker.org
DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate worldwide. Be patient!
Common Issues
If your domain doesn't work:
- Wait longer - propagation can take time
- Clear your browser cache and DNS cache
- Try accessing from a different device/network
- Verify you entered the correct IP address
- Contact support if issues persist after 48 hours
